The Old RectorY,ENGLAND

I worked through the complete renovation of The Old Rectory; a beautiful Grade II Listed property situated in private grounds, accessed via a long private driveway. The main elevation of the house itself is thought to date from 1713 with an earlier original building to the back. The house has a classic Queen Anne style front facade with Flemish Bond brickwork, sash windows and a hooded front door with triangular pediment and fanlight window. My aim was to pay homage to the classical elements of this period home while adding a relaxed twist in the form of unexpected colour combinations, eye-catching pattern and the easy pairing of old and new

The home was in need of significant refurbishment and I worked closely with the construction company in developing internal layouts and plans for the new owner. This included renovating every room down to the smallest detail in the main house, as well as the outhouse, which were originally stables. I was responsible for designing all these rooms with the addition of a gym and clubroom. Jointly with the client, we drew inspiration from the Queen Anne style of the house, combined with strands from the late 19th Century and contemporary elements to add some character to the house. I designed and sourced all fabrics, upholstery and furniture to create the fun and elegant scheme we wanted to achieve.
